HONOLULU – Stefan Jankovic poured in a career-high 22 points and the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team remained undefeated, cruising to a 99-74 win over Nicholls State on Sunday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
 
The fans came out in droves for Star Wars Night to watch their 'Bows improve to a perfect 4-0 with their most lopsided win of the young season. Roderick Bobbitt got his second double-double with 11 points and 10 assists and Aaron Valdes added 20 points on a hot 8-9 shooting.
 
Ja'Dante' Frye had a game-high 27 points for Nicholls State (1-2) with T.J. Carpenter adding 25 points.
 
The 'Bows, off to their best start since the 2010-11 season, dominated from start to finish, hitting on their first three shots including a three pointer by Jankovic. UH kept up the hot shooting but NSU was able to stay in the game briefly with Carpenter connecting on his first three shots, all three pointers.
 
The lead began to swell just over the midway point of the first half. The Colonels went cold from the floor and the 'Bows hit nine straight shots to spearhead a 21-4 run and take a 22-point lead.  Mike Thomas (11 pts) caught fire late in the half, hitting three straight shots including a three-pointer to lift Hawai'i to a 54-28 halftime lead.
 
UH kept its foot on the gas to start the second half as Valdes connected on a pair of elbow threes to extend the lead to 60-31. The Colonels never got closer than 22 points as UH coasted to the win.
 
The 'Bows now hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to Lubbock, Tex. and a matchup with Texas Tech on Saturday, Nov. 28. Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m. CT (11:00 a.m. HT).
