HONOLULU – The No. 24 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team will play its Big West Conference home opener this weekend, hosting Cal State Fullerton (6-9, 0-2 Big West) on Friday, Oct. 3 and UC Irvine (10-6, 0-2 Big West) on Saturday, Oct. 4. Hawai'i enters the weekend on a five-match win streak with the last four coming on sweeps.
After road sweeps at UC Davis and UC Riverside, the 'Bows moved up one spot to No. 24 in the latest AVCA Top 25 coaches poll. Hawai'i enters the weekend as the league's leader with 3.17 blocks per set. Junior Olivia Magill leads the 'Bows on that front, establishing herself as the conference's top force at the net with 71 total blocks and 1.58 blocks per set, both league highs.
Freshman Kalei Greeley has been coming into her own. She was voted the league's Freshman of the Week following her double-double (12 kills, 12 digs) at UC Riverside, her first of the season.
The 'Bows also lead the Big West in aces, averaging 1.69 per set. Tai Manu-Olevao has a league-leading 0.54 aces per set and 37 total.
Both matches this weekend are slated for 7:00 p.m. start times with an autograph session to follow Saturday night's match.

Also, fans will get their first look at the 2014-15 University of Hawai'i men's basketball squad when it holds its Green & White Scrimmage following Saturday's Rainbow Wahine volleyball match which will begin at approximately 10:00 p.m. Admission to the scrimmage is free.
