HONOLULU – Tai Manu Olevao and Kalei Greeley both recorded double-doubles, Olivia Magill added six blocks and the No. 25 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team won its fifth straight match, a 25-12, 29-27, 25-19 sweep of UC Riverside on Saturday at SRC Arena.

The win was the fourth straight sweep for the 'Bows who improve to 2-0 in the Big West Conference and 10-3 overall after their season-high fifth straight win.

Greeley and Manu-Olevao both had 12 kills and added 12 and 10 digs, respectively. Nikki Taylor posted 10 kills along with six digs and five blocks for a solid overall effort.

Fabiana Ross led UC Riverside (2-11, 0-1 BWC) with 12 kills and Maddie Hubble added 18 digs.

The opening set saw the 'Bows post their biggest set win of the season next to a 25-11 score against New Mexico in the second weekend of the season. Hawai'i used a 6-1 run midway through the set to cruise to the win. Taylor had two kills during the burst and ripped another to extend the lead to nine points and all but seal the win.

The Highlanders led by as many as four points early in set two but, after a timeout, kills from Manu-Olevao and Greeley helped Hawai'i reel off four straight points to tie the score. A Bri Holmes (5 kills) kill established a three-point cushion for UCR at 18-15 and the Highlanders continued to lead down the stretch. The 'Bows rallied with three straight points to set up their first of five set points, then finally cashed in when Manu-Olevao's kill gave UH the 29-27 win.

UC Riverside put up a good fight in set three as well, but it wasn't enough to prevent the 'Bows from pulling away and completing the sweep. The two teams traded points midway through the set but a Manu-Olevao kill gave her team a late three-point cushion as UH paced to the win.

The 'Bows conclude their first road trip and now return home to play Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine next Friday and Saturday.
