Day 1 Results
PALM DESERT, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is in fourth place following the first two rounds of the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate, Saturday at the The Classic Club.
Sophomore Izzy Leung is three strokes off the lead and tied for third place following consecutive 74 and is 4-over 148 for the tournament. San Jose State's Megan Osland is a top the individual leaderboard at 1-over 145, which included a 1-under 71 in the second round.
As a team, Rainbow Wahine shot 313 and 305 on Saturday for a 618 total, 15 strokes off the lead held by San Jose State (601). UC Riverside is in second (608) followed by New Mexico State (613).
Also competing for Hawai'i are sophomore Raquel Ek (79-78=157/t26), freshman Marie Donnici (81-77=158/t33), junior Nichole Cruz (79-80=159/t37), and sophomore Brianna Becker (84-76=160/t46).
The tournament concludes on Sunday with the third and final round. Leung is looking to win her second straight tournament title after capturing the OSU Invitational two weeks ago.
