HONOLULU – Tai Manu-Olevao shared match-high honors with 13 kills, Kalei Adolpho added a season-high seven blocks and the No. 25 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team opened Big West Conference play with a 25-18, 25-18, 26-24 road sweep of UC Davis on Friday at The Pavilion.

Nine of Manu-Olevao's kills came in the third set as the 'Bows (9-3, 1-0 BWC) rallied from a late four-point deficit to secure the sweep. Four straight kills from Manu-Olevao gave Hawai'i a 13-11 lead, but the Aggies rallied, twice tying the score before taking a 20-16 lead off an Aima Eichie (4 kills, 4 blocks) kill. Manu-Olevao brought the 'Bows to within one point with a block and a kill, then staved off an Aggie set point before putting Hawai'i ahead 25-24 with another kill.

Kaylin Squyres led UC Davis (5-9, 0-1 BWC) with 13 kills and eight digs and Allie Wegener added six kills and six digs.

Olivia Magill was as efficient as ever for the 'Bows, hitting a match-high .615 with 10 kills on just two errors. Kalei Greeley posted eight kills and nine digs and Nikki Taylor added nine kills and eight digs. Magill and Taylor were in on the match-winning block in the third set.

The 'Bows never trailed en route to their dominant first set win. A Wegener kill tied the set for the last time at 6-6 as the Rainbow Wahine began to distance themselves from the Aggies. A Magill kill gave UH a 13-10 lead and Katiana Ponce won five points off her serve to help put Hawai'i ahead 18-11.

The 'Bows were firing on all cylinders in the beginning of set two. Seven of their first nine points came from kills as the 'Bows opened up a 9-3 lead. Three straight Aggie points midway through the set cut the deficit to three points but, after a timeout, Hawai'i regained the momentum and cruised to the two-set lead.

The 'Bows remain on the road and will play UC Riverside on Saturday. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. PT (4:00 p.m. HT).
