Match NotesHONOLULU - The No. 25 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team will begin defense of its Big West Conference title, opening on the road against UC Davis and UC Riverside. The 'Bows (8-3), who were picked to win the title, won a share of their 19
th straight conference title last season and will face the Aggies on Friday, Sept 26 at 7:00 p.m. PT (4:00 p.m. HT) and Highlanders on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7:00 p.m. PT (4:00 p.m. HT).
The Rainbow Wahine dropped out of the top 25 national poll last week for the first time since the final 1992 poll. The absence was short-lived though as the 'Bows returned at No. 25 this week after back-to-back sweeps of previously undefeated Northern Arizona.
The 'Bows have been a force at the net, ranking first in the Big West at 3.08 blocks per set.
Olivia Magill has 62 total blocks and boasts a league-leading 1.59 blocks per set.
Kalei Adolpho is not far behind, ranking fourth in the Big West at 1.10 blocks per set with 43 on season.
Hawai'i swept UC Riverside on the road last season but will look to atone for its five-set loss at UC Davis. UH dropped the first two sets of that match before rallying and losing in the deciding set.
