Izzy Leung is currently in second place, one stroke off the lead, after the first two rounds of the Oregon State Invitational, Monday, at the Trysting Tree Golf Club.
As a team, the Rainbow Wahine are in seventh place with a 602 total (303-299). Host OSU is in first place at 582, three strokes ahead of San Francisco (585).
Leung, a sophomore from Shatin, Hong Kong, fired a career-low 67 in the day's first round. Her round included four birdies and an eagle and momentarily held the first round lead by one stroke over Boise State's Genevieve Ling (68).
Leung followed with a second round 75 for a 2-under 142 total, one stroke behind San Francisco's Clare Sorensen, who shot 73 and 68. Ling is tied for fourth at even par 144 while BSU's McKenzie Ford is in third place at 1-under 143.
Sophomore
Raquel Ek shot 76 and 74 and is tied for 21
st at 6-over 150. One stroke back is sophomore
Brianna Becker who shot even par 72 in the second round to go along with a first round 79 for a 151 total and tie for 27
th. Junior
Nichole Cruz is tied for 52
nd at 160 (82-78) while sophomore
Kelli-Anne Katsuda is in 55
th at 163 (81-82).
The tournament concludes with the third and final round on Tuesday beginning at 8:00 a.m. PT.
