Izzy Leung is currently tied for 15
th place following the second round of the Big West Conference Women's Golf Championship Monday at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
Leung shot a 78 and is tied with Cal Poly's Taylor Yoshitake for 15
th at 8-over 154 for the tournament. Leung and fellow UH freshman
Raquel Ek each shot the low round of the day for the Rainbow Wahine. Ek is in 31
st place with a 161 total (83-78).
No. 37 UC Davis continues to hold the team lead at 591, 12 strokes better than Cal State Northridge, who shot the low team score of the day at 296. UC Irvine (611) is in third followed by Long Beach State (617), Cal State Fullerton (625), Cal Poly (625), UC Riverside (626), and UH (636).
CSUN's Clariss Guce grabbed the individual lead with a spectacular 4-under 69 and is 3-under 143 for the championship. Three golfers are at even par 146, including a pair of UC Davis golfers Betty Chan and Bev Vatananugulkit. CSUF's Martina Edberg is also among that group after firing her second straight even par 73.
Freshman
Kelli-Anne Katsuda is tied for 27
th after a second round 79 for a 160 total. Freshman
Brianna Becker is one stroke back after shooting 80 on Monday and is tied for 32
nd at 162. Sophomore
Nichole Cruz is tied for 36
th at 167 (82-85).
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the third and final round.
