Nainoa Calip shot a final round 3-under 67 to move up 26 spots into a tie for 18
th place Sunday at the 68
th Western Intercollegiate at the famed Pasatiempo Golf Club.
Calip, a senior from Hilo, Hawai'i, carded seven birdies on his round including back-to-back at Nos. 12 and 13. He started his round with four birdies through his first 10 holes before posting four bogeys on his back nine.
As a team, the Rainbow Warriors placed 14
th with a final round 371 for a 1,109 total in the play-six, score-five format. Stanford took home the team championship with a 1,040 total, 16 strokes better than runner-up Washington (1,056) Stanford's Cameron Wilson captured medalist honors with a final round 69 for a 7-under 203 total. Teammate Patrick Rodgers was runner-up at 5-under 205.

Ryan Kuroiwa posted a 1-over 71 to finish at 222 and a tie for 60
th along with fellow UH golfer
Brian Lee, who shot 77 on Sunday. Senior
David Saka placed 82
nd at 227 with a final round 79. Sophomore
Scotty Yamashita tied for 83
rd at 228 while freshman
Zachary Braunthal was 88
th at 238.
The Western was UH's final tine-up before the Big West Conference Championship to be held later this month in Beaumont, Calif.
