HONOLULU - The No. 3 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine sand volleyball team steamrolled to a 5-0 win over No. 8 Nebraska (0-2) Thursday afternoon at the Queens Beach Sand Box. The Rainbow Wahine improved to 7-2 on the season with the win, including a 5-1 record at home.
 
UH was utterly dominant with straight-set victories on all five courts in a match that lasted less than 40 minutes.  The pair of Brittany Tiegs and Karissa Cook continued their fantastic season, picking up a 21-7, 21-17 win over Mel Kiel and Justine Wong-Orantes on court No. 1. The tandem now sports a 11-1 record on the season, including a 7-1 mark in dual matches.
 
The No. 2 team of Katie Spieler and Nikki Taylor gave perhaps the most impressive performance of the day with a 21-11, 21-7 win over Amber and Kadie Rolfzen at the No. 2 court. That pair improved to 13-4 overall on the year and 7-2 in dual matches.
 
In the day's first match, No. 2 USC  blanked Nebraska, 5-0. 
 
Hawai'i returns to action Friday and Saturday when they host Nebraska, USC,  Arizona, and Hawai`i Pacific in the Jack In the Box Rainbow Wahine Spring Challenge.  Friday will consist of pool play with first serve at 9:00 a.m.  at Queens Beach.
