Tournament WebsiteTournament BracketGame NotesHONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team hosts the sixth annual Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, Dec. 22, 23 and 25 at the Stan Sheriff Center. Joining UH in the eight-team tournament are Ohio, George Washington, Loyola Marymount, No. 11 Wichita State, DePaul, Colorado, and Nebraska.
The Rainbow Warriors (8-3) and Cornhuskers (6-3) first-round match-up will cap the opening day of action with an 8:00 p.m. tipoff. UH enters the tournament fresh off its most lopsided win of the year, a 94-63 drumming of Chaminade on Friday night.
Roderick Bobbitt and
Stefan Jovanovic both delivered double-doubles to lead six players in double figures.
Nebraska will have eight days in between its last game and when it takes on the 'Bows on Monday night. The last time the Cornhuskers took the court resulted in a double-overtime win over Cincinnati.
Hawai'i has won four of their six meetings with Nebraska, the last an 81-72 win at the Outrigger Hotels Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The earlier matches in the day will be Ohio vs. George Washington (9:30 a.m.), Wichita State vs. Loyola Marymount (11:30 a.m.) and DePaul vs. Colorado (6:00 p.m.)
