Game NotesHONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team returns home this week to host undefeated and first-place Long Beach State on Friday, Nov. 7 and CSUN on Saturday, Nov. 8. Both start times at the Stan Sheriff Center are set for 7:00 p.m.
The Friday matchup pits the top two teams in the Big West Conference as the 49ers roll into town with an unblemished 9-0 league record and 19-4 overall. The much-anticipated matchup should prove to be a highly competitive affair as both teams played to a five-set thriller in Long Beach last month. LBSU came out victorious that night.
The 'Bows will have plenty to atone for against the Matadors who swept UH in their first matchup this season. The loss to CSUN was the first sweep to a conference opponent since Utah State in the 2010 Western Athletic Conference tournament.
UH is coming off a road trip that featured one of the biggest wins of the season. The 'Bows rallied from a two-set deficit to stun UC Irvine and remain in the hunt for their 20
th straight conference title.
Tai Manu-Olevao ripped a career-high 21 kills, Taylor Higgins added a career-best 17 digs, and
Nikki Taylor nearly recorded a triple-double (10 kills, 12 digs, 8 blks).
