Round 2 Results PRINCEVILLE, Kaua`i—The University of Hawai`i men's golf team is tied for 13th place after two rounds of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational. The Rainbow Warriors shot a second straight 4-over 292 on the second day of the tournament for a total score of 584 (292-292). Scott Yamashita bounced back to fire a 1-under 71 to lead the 'Bows.
Skye Inakoshi leads all Hawai'i players after he followed his 71 yesterday with a 2-under 70 on Tuesday at the Princeville Makai Course on Kaua`i.
Yamashita improved nine strokes and lowered his score for the tournament to 7-over 161 after his solid play in the second round.
Brian Lee leads UH overall and is tied for 47
th with a two-day total of 1-over 145 total. On Tuesday, Lee recorded a 2-over 74.
Justin Chu is tied for 55
th place at 3-over 147 while
Zachary Braunthal and
Ryan Kuroiwa are both tied for 63
rd place with a 4-over 148.
Inakoshi is currently tied for 24
th place overall with a two round total of 3-under 141. Both
Pono Tokioka and
Adrian Lee are tied for 47
th along with
Brian Lee at 145. Tokioka shot a 4-over 76 while
Adrian Lee posted a 2-over 74 in the second round.
Smart Kittirattanapaiboon improved 10-strokes to tally a 6-over 78.
Georgia Tech continues to lead the tournament at 31-under 545 following a second round 273. The 11th-ranked Yellow Jackets hold a four-stroke lead No. 28 Arizona State (549) while Mississippi and Louisville are tied for third at 552. Individually, Pepperdine's Frederick Wedel followed his 8-under 64 in Round 1 with a 9-under 63 on Tuesday and is 17-under 127 for the tourney. Georgia Tech's Ollie Schniederjans, San Diego's Grant Forrest, Louisville's Robin Sciot-Siegrist are tied for second at 13-under 131.
The Invitational concludes with its third and final round on Wednesday.
