Final Results (pdf)SAMMAMISH, Wash. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team finished in 11
th place at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational Wednesday, at the Sahalee Country Club.
The Rainbow Wahine shot a final round 318 in the weather-shortened tournament to finish at 622 (304-318). Host Washington captured the title after shooting 4-under par 571. Runner-up Stanford finished 14-over 590, followed by UC Davis (598) and Gonzaga (606).
Junior
Nichole Cruz and sophomore
Kelli-Anne Katsuda led the way for UH as both finished in a tie for 33
rd with a 155 total. Cruz shot an 80 on the day with three birdies, seven bogeys, and two double bogeys while Katsuda fired 81 with two birdies, three bogeys, and four doubles. Sophomore
Izzy Leung also shot 80 and finished tied for 40
th (156).
Sophomore
Raquel Ek finished with the team's best score on the day, shooting 5-over 77 and tied with Leung for 40
th at 156 (79-77). Sophomore
Brianna Becker finished 61
st with a 166 total (81-85).
Cruz and Katsuda posted their best finishes of the season.
Washington's SooBin Kim ran away with the Invitational title, finishing 8-under 136. Teammates Jennifer Yang (145) and Eimi Koga (145) rounded out the top three. Fellow Big West competitors Paige Lee and Blair Lewis, both of UC Davis, tied for fourth at 146.
UH will next host the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Oct. 21-23, at the Schofield Barracks on O'ahu.
