WAHIAWA, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team currently sits in sixth place following the first two rounds of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Wednesday at the Leilehua Golf Course.
The Rainbow Wahine fired rounds of 306 and 301 for a 607 total, just 14 strokes out of second place. Vanderbilt (574) holds a commanding 19-stroke lead over Boise State (593) heading into Thursday's final round.
Sophomore
Izzy Leung is UH's top golfer at 6-over 150, which is tied for 14th place. The Shatin, Hong Kong native shot 73 and 77 and is two strokes out of the Top 10.
Freshman
Marie Donnici is tied for 23rd after rounds of 78 and 75. Sophomore
Brianna Becker is one stroke back at 154 with consecutive rounds of 77. Sophomore
Raquel Ek showed the biggest improvement from her first to second rounds, opening with an 84 followed by even par 72 for a 156 total and tie for41st.
Junior
Nichole Cruz is tied for 53rd at 159 (78-81).
Individually, Vanderbilt's Kendall Martindale is 5-under 139 after rounds of 68 and 71. Teammate Cindy Ha is three strokes back at 142 (73-69).
The tournament concludes on Thursday with an 8:00 am shotgun start.
