th place finish at the Wood Ranch Golf Club. The teams wrapped up the second round earlier in the day, of which the Rainbow Warriors were 11
th, before finishing the third and final round.
UH shot 889 (286-297-306) and placed sixth among the eight Big West Conference teams competing in the 20-team field. USC ran away with the title at 833 followed by Arizona State (844). UC Irvine was the highest Big West finisher at 863 for fourth place.
Junior
Scotty Yamashita was Hawai'i's top finisher at 2-over 218 for the tournament which tied him for 31
st place after a final round 1-over 73. Junior
Justin Chu was four strokes back at 6-over 222 with rounds of 75-72-75 and tied for 54
th place.
Sophomore
Skye Inakoshi dropped back to a tie for 62
nd after struggling to a final round 82. The Honolulu native was among the first round leaders after a 5-under 67. Senior
Brian Lee tied for 74
th at 227 (76-75-76) while senior
Ryan Kuroiwa tied for 88
th at 231 (74-75-82).
ASU's Jon Rahm edged out USC's Rico Hoey by one stroke for medalist honors with a 13-under 203 total.
The Rainbow Warriors return to the 50
th state to host both the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational, Nov. 3-5, on Kaua'i and the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational, Nov. 7-9, on Maui.
