Men’s Basketball Looks For Bounce Back Versus CSUN

Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team plays the second of four straight home games when it hosts Cal State Northridge on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Rainbow Warriors (14-6) look to rebound following a disappointing 92-83 loss to Long Beach State that snapped the team's three-game win streak. UH dropped to 3-3 in the Big West with the loss, but still remain just a game out of first place in the congested Big West standings.

The 'Bows continued their scoring spree against the 49ers to remain among the national leaders in offense, but will need to shore up a defense that has allowed 86.5 ppg and 57.4% opponent shooting its last two games.

Saturday's game versus CSUN (11-11, 3-4 BWC) will be a rematch of a Jan. 11 contest won by the Matadors, 79-78, in Northridge. UH nearly overcame a 13-point deficit in the second half and had four opportunities in the final 90 seconds to either tie the game or take the lead, but couldn't capitalize. The last play included a Christian Standhardinger jumper near the free throw line that rattled out in the final seconds.
