Updated Tournament Bracket

INDIAN WELLS, Calif.--The fourth seeded University of Hawai'i women's tennis team knocked off fifth-seeded Cal State Fullerton, 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the Big West Conference Tennis Championship held at the Inidan Wells Tennis Garden on Friday afternoon.

The Rainbow Wahine (6-14, 4-4 Big West) got off to a strong start, capturing the doubles point to take the early lead. UH's No. 1 duo of Xenia Suworowa and Katarina Poljakova proved to be too much as they blanked the Titans' Tiffany Mai and Monica Rodriguez, 8-0. But Cal State Fullerton's No. 3 pair of Megan Sandford and Rebekah Ermac evened the doubles score at 1-1 with an 8-4 win over the 'Bows' Kelsey Daguio and Paulina Petriskova. Hawai'i's No. 2 team of Martina Kostalova and Rebecca Faltusz then came through in the clutch to secure the point with an 8-4 win over Morgan McIntosh and Kalika Slevcove.

In singles, Kostalova got the 'Bows off to a solid start with a 6-1, 6-0 dismantling of CSF's Slevcove on the No. 3 court. The Titans however countered with Mai downing UH's Suworowa in the No. 1 match, 6-2, 6-2 to cut UH's lead to 2-1. But the bottom of Hawai'i's line up then came through to lift the 'Bows to the win. No. 6 Faltusz followed with a straight set win over Ermac, 6-2, 6-3 to take a 3-1 lead. No. 5 Daguio then came through with the match-clinching win over Sandford. Daguio won the first set 6-2 but got blanked in the second set 0-6 before bouncing back to hold off Sandford, 6-4 to seal the win for Hawai'i.

The Rainbow Wahine advance to Saturday's semifinals at 9:00 a.m. against top-seeded UC Irvine.  The Titans finished their season at 11-14.
