HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i tennis team takes the courts of the Indlan Wells Tennis Garden in the Big West Conference tournament from Apr. 25-28 in Indio, Calif. The Wahine will be the fourth seed and will face No. 5 Cal State Fullerton.
 
The 'Bows (5-11, 4-4 BWC) face the Titans (11-13, 4-5 BWC) for the second time this season on Apr. 26 at 11:00 a.m. PST (8:00 a.m. HST). The Winner will take on the winner of Match F, No. 1 UC Irvine or No. 8 Pacific/No. 9 Cal Poly.
 
The Titans won the two matches necessary to take the doubles point when Martina Kostalova and Kelly Domingo lost to Megan Sandford and Kalika Slevcove, 8-2. Katarina Poljakova defeated Tiffany Mai on the No. 1 Court, 6-4, 7-5, and evened the score at 3-3. Rebecca Faltusz could not convert the final point when she lost to Sandford on the No. 6 Court, 6-1, 6-4.
 
Poljakova has been the best 'Bow this season with a 9-7 singles record coming on the No. 1 Court (5-4) and the No. 2 Court (4-3). Paired with Xenia Suworowa in the previous match against nationally ranked No. 31 UC Irvine defeated No. 69 Franziska Goettsching and Kristina Smith on the No. 1 Court, 8-3. This is the first doubles match this season where UH has won against a nationally ranked tandem.
