Round 1 Results

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team begin play at the Big West Conference Championships Sunday at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. The Rainbow Wahine are currently in eighth place with a first round score of 326.
 
Sixteenth-ranked UC Davis hold the lead with a 3-under 289 and all five golfers are in the Top 10, including first round leader Bev Vatananugulkit, who shot a blistering 4-under 69. Teammate Demi Runas is three shots back along with Long Beach State's Kassidy Teare.
 
The Aggies hold an eight-stroke lead over LBSU (311) while the rest of the field is way back. UC Irvine, currently third and 22 strokes off the lead, is separated by eighth place UH by 15 strokes.
 
For the Rainbow Wahine, senior Kaili Britos and junior Charlee Kapiioho each shot 7-over 80 and are tied for 21^st. Senior Megan Inouye is two stroke back with an 82 followed by freshman Nichole Cruz (84) and junior Liana Otake (84).
 
The tournament continues with the second round on Monday.
