Women’s Golf Finishes Bruin Wave Invitational

Ka‘ili Britos shot three straight rounds in the 70s to lead UH at the Bruin Wave Invitational
Final Results

TARZANA, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team concluded the highly competitive Bruin Wave Invitational with the third and final round of play Tuesday at El Caballero Country Club.
 
The Rainbow Wahine (337-321-330=1119) shot a final round 330 for a three-round total of 988 to finish the tournament in 14th place.
 
Top-ranked Southern California (290-301-293=884) took the team title after shooting a third round 293 to give them a total of 884. It was USC's second consecutive tournament victory after winning the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate last week in Louisiana. 
 
Co-host No. 16 UCLA (290-301-293=886) finished a mere two strokes shy of their archrival for the team title after shooting a 303 for an 886 total. Arizona (305-294-297=896) and co-host Pepperdine (312-299-311=922) finished in third and fourth place, respectively.   
 
Freshman Annie Park (68-76-71=215) of USC took titlist honors after shooting a third round 71 to finish with at 215 overall. Pepperdine's Marissa Chow (74-71-74=219) and UCLA's Tiffany Lua (76-72-71=219) finished in a tie for second place after each posted an overall score of 219.
 
For the sixth straight tournament, senior Ka'ili Britos (78-79-77=234) was the top finisher for UH after she posted her best score of the tournament with a third round 77. Britos finished the tournament in 31st place with a 234 total.
 
Junior Charlee Kapiioho (89-79-83=251) tied for 67th place after shooting a third round 83. Starting the day on the 10th hole, Kapiioho struggled on her front nine shooting 10-over to start her round but rebounded with a 1-over in her second nine.
 
True freshman Nichole Cruz (83-85-86=254) shot 86 for a 254 total and 71st place. Junior Liana Otake (88-78-89=255) shot 89 to finish with a 255 overall and tie for 72nd. Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine was senior Megan Inouye (88-97-84=269) who shot a third round 84 to finish at 269 overall and a tie for 78th place.
 
Next up for the Rainbow Wahine is the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, March 12-13. UH will serve as hosts for the 28th tourney which is held at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course on Marines Corps Base Hawai'i.
