Day 1 Results
TARZANA, Calif.- The University of Hawai'i women's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Bruin Wave Invitational Monday at El Caballero Country Club.
UH shot a 337 in the first round and a 321 in the second round for a two round total score of 658, which puts the Rainbow Wahine in 14
th place heading into the final round of play.
No. 16 UCLA sits comfortably atop the team standings with an eight-stroke lead after shooting a 583 in the first two rounds. Top-ranked Southern California is currently in second place behind its archrival after shooting a two round 591 on Monday. Arizona sits in third with a 599.
Individually, UCLA's Lee Lopez is on top of the standings at 2-under 142. Annie Park of USC is right on the heels of Lopez after shooting 144 and sits two strokes behind the lead going into the final round. Marissa Chow of co-host Pepperdine currently is in a tie for third with fellow co-host UCLA's Louise Ridderstrom after both shot 145 respectively.
Leading the Rainbow Wahine is senior Ka'ili Britos who is currently tied for 29
th place after shooting a two round 157. Junior
Liana Otake shot 166 and sits in a tie for 65
th place. Her day started with a first round 88 but rebounded shaving 10 strokes off her second round with a team-best 78.
Also competing for UH is junior Charlee Kapiioho, who also improved 10 strokes from her first round with a round two 79, and freshman
Nichole Cruz, both of whom are at 168 which puts them in a tie for 71
st place. Senior
Megan Inouye totaled 185.
The Bruin Wave Invitational will conclude on Tuesday with the third and final round of play at El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana, Calif.
