Men’s Golf Continues Play At Amer Ari Invite

Round 2 Results

WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team completed the second round of the Amer Ari Invitational after firing a 307 Thursday at the Waikoloa Kings' Course.
 
The Warriors are currently in a tie for 19th place with a two-round score of 605 (29-over). Seventh-ranked Washington (555) holds a two-stroke lead over No. 4 UCLA (557), while No. 2 Texas is seven strokes back at 562. The 20-team tourney, rated fifth toughest in the country, features 10 ranked teams, including five of the Top 10 squads.
 
UH's top individual performer is junior Nainoa Calip, who shot an even par 72 on Thursday and is 2-over 146, tied for 55th for the tourney. The other Warriors competing in the tournament are sophomore Ryan Kuroiwa (74-77, t94th), senior Cory Oride (75-77, t99th), freshman Scotty Yamashita (75-81, t110th), and sophomore Brian Lee (77-81, t113th).
 
Texas' Cody Gribble and UCLA's Pontus Widegren share the Round 2 lead at 7-under 137. A group of five golfers are one stroke back while top-ranked Cheng-Tsung Pan is tied for 11th at 4-under 140.
 
The tournament concludes on Friday with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Kings' Course.
