SAN DIEGO--The No. 68 University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (2-7, 2-2 Big West) fell in their final match of their four match roadswing through California.  No. 42 San Diego defeated the Rainbow Wahine, 5-1 and did not play doubles because of inclement weather at the Hogan Tennis Center on the campus of the University of San Diego.
 
San Diego's No. 5 player Marta Stojanovic blanked UH's Rebecca Faltusz, 6-0, 6-0 while Xenia Suworowa also fell in straight sets to Laura Claus in the No. 2 match. The Torreros No. 6 player, Cara Brown defeated Hawai'i's Kelsey Daguio, 6-1, 6-2, but then UH's No. 1 Katarina Poljakova downed Stephanie Hoffpauir, 6-3, 6-1 for her fourth straight singles win. On the No. 3 court, UH's Martina Kostalova dropped her match to Shani Blecher, 6-4, 6-1. UH Freshman Paulina Petriskova had the longest match of the day, taking the No. 5 match to three sets. Petriskova won the first set, 6-3, but fell in the last two. 3-6, 2-6.
 
Hawai'i returns home and will next play two non-conference matches against Xavier on Feb. 27 and San Diego State on March 2.
