Final Results
INDUSTRY HILLS, Calif.- The University of Hawai'i women's golf team concluded it's inaugural tournament of the spring season at the Ameri Ari Invitational at the Industry Hills Golf Club.
The Rainbow Wahine shot a final round 331 for a three round score of 1000 (336-333-331) to finish in 12
th place. The Gonzaga Bulldogs ran away with the team title after finishing 11 strokes ahead of second place and host team Cal State Fullerton with a total score of 902 (303-304-295).
The top two individuals to start the third round would also finish that way at the Babe Didrikson Course on Tuesday. Gonzaga's Raychelle Santos took titlist honors after shooting a third round 70 to finish with an overall score of 218 (74-74-70). Aram Choi of Portland State would finish with a 219 (75-72-72) to fall one stroke short of the title.
Senior Ka'ili Britos was UH's top finisher for the fifth straight tournament after shooting a third round 78 to finish with a 240 (78-84-78) overall. Britos ended the tournament in 34
th place.
Also competing for UH, junior
Liana Otake shot a 247 (84-82-81) to finish in a tie for 49
th place. Freshman
Nichole Cruz finished in 61
st place after shooting a three round 257 (89-83-85).
Junior Charlee Kapiioho finished in 63
rd place with a 259 (85-84-90) and senior
Megan Inouye finished in a tie for 64
th place after shooting a three round 260 (89-84-87).
The Rainbow Wahine will head back to California to participate in the Bruin Wave Invitational Monday, March 4 through Tuesday, March 5 in Santa Clarita, Calif.
