Game Notes
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team (15-10, 9-5 BWC) meets up with Pacific (14-10, 8-4 BWC) in a battle for second place in the Big West on Saturday, Feb. 16. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. PT (5:00 p.m. HT) at the Spanos Center.
Both teams are 2.5 games behind league-leader Long Beach State, with the Tigers mere percentage points ahead of the Rainbow Warriors in the league standings. UH is coming off a dismal performance at UC Davis on Thursday, suffering a 89-65 loss to the Aggies. The loss snapped UH's season-long five game win streak, while also ending the team's string of three straight road wins.
Pacific, meanwhile, enters the game having won five of its last seven contests, including a 66-59 home victory over Cal State Northridge on Thursday. The Tigers are 10-2 at home this year, including a perfect 6-0 in Big West games.
Hawai'i won the first meeting between the teams, 60-52, in Honolulu on Jan. 17 as UH held the Tigers to the lowest scoring output by an opponent this year. This will be just the second regular-season meeting between the teams as conference rivals, but also the last with Pacific set to join the West Coast Conference next season.
