Match Notes
HONOLULU – The No. 12 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team will hit the road this week for a pair of critical Big West Conference matches. The 'Bows will take on Cal Poly on Friday, Nov. 8 (7:00 p.m. PT, 5:00 p.m. HT) then face UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Nov. 9 (6:30 p.m. PT, 4:30 p.m. HT).
The 'Bows currently sit at third in the Big West, trailing Cal State Northridge by two full matches for the league's top spot with six matches remaining. UC Santa Barbara (13-8, 8-1 BWC), who shocked UH at the Stan Sheriff Center earlier this season, are second in the conference. UH swept a much improved Cal Poly (10-12, 4-5 BWC) team in their first meeting.
Hawai'i still ranks first in the Big West in hitting (.282), opponent hitting (.171), assists (13.21 a/s), and kills (14.27 k/s). The 'Bows appeared to have righted the ship this past weekend with a sweep of UC Davis and a quality four-set win over Long Beach State.
Middle
Jade Vorster hit .384 on Saturday in UH's win against Long Beach State and continues to be one of the top hitters in the conference ranking second at .404. Outside hitter
Emily Hartong is averaging a league-best 4.65 kills per set.
