Results, Day 2 - Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational
PRINCEVILLE, Kaua`i-The University of Hawai`i men's golf team completed the second day of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational on Tuesday.
Brian Lee is now tied for 18th place with a score of 140, dropping from third place. The Hawai`i-Black Team is ranked 17th at 10-over while the Hawai`i-Green Team (B) is ranked at 18th at 14-over.
Lee started the round on the back nine and scorched his first few holes, getting birdies on 10, 15, 16, 18 with an eagle on 14. His first blemish on his scorecard came on the third hole, with a bogey. But Lee, a member of the Green Team, came back with back-to-back birdies on holes 4 and 5 before bogeying again on No. 7 to end his record round.
Rookie
Skye Inakoshi and senior
David Saka lead the Black team individually, with both ranked at 45th, after shooting an even par 71-73=144 and 74-70=144, respectively. Inakoshi started at the first hole with a bogey, but responded by posting birdies on three of the next five holes. He bogeyed on 9, 10 and 18 but recorded two birdies on 12 and 14. Saka posted five birdies on holes 3,4,7,9, and 15. His only setbacks were a double bogey on 6 and a bogey on hole 18 to finish round two.
The Green Team also includes: Junior
Ryan Kuroiwa tied for 72nd at 75-73=149; freshman
Zachary Braunthal tied for 81st, 76-75=154; freshman
Pono Tokioka who ranks 91st at 79-7=155; and sophomore
Justin Chu ranking 93rd at 74-83=157.
Playing for the Black Team is senior
Nainoa Calip tied for 67th at 72-76=148; senior
Tommy Yamashita tied for 80th at 78-73=151; and
Scotty Yamashita tied for 81st at 78-73=151.
The Rainbow Warriors conclude the three-day tournament on Wednesday Nov. 6th at the Princeville Makai Golf Course.
