HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (3-2, 0-0 BWC) return to the hardwood to host this week's Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown, Nov. 29-Dec. 1. Hawai'i will take on Colorado State (3-1, 0-0 Mountain West), UT Chattanooga (4-1, 0-0 Southern), and Minnesota (5-1, 0-0 Big Ten).
The Rainbow Wahine went 2-1 in their last tournament, earning wins over Washington State and Ole Miss but falling just short of defeating West Virginia, 59-56. The 'Bows were led by senior forward
Kamilah Jackson who posted three double-doubles and became just the second player in Rainbow Wahine history to join the elite 1,000 point/1,000 rebound club. In the tournament, Jackson averaged 22.0 points and 11.7 rebounds per game with five assists and five steals. She leads UH overall with 18.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game average as she continues to pace the 'Bows. For her career, Jackson now ranks No. 6 in UH's all-time scoring with 1,291 points and No. 2 with 1,002 rebounds. Jackson ranks No. 3 in the NCAA amongst active players with a 10.7 rebound average and is ranked No. 6 in the NCAA in career rebounds.
It's been a total team effort for the Rainbow Wahine this season with all 11 players on the roster playing significant minutes thus far.
Shawna-Lei Kuehu has been recovering from early season set-backs to once again be a force to reckon with on the court. The 5-10 wing is second on the team averaging 8.0 points per game while leading the team with five blocked shots. Kuehu poured in a career-high 19 points with a season-high eight rebounds in UH's win over Ole Miss on Nov. 16.
Ashleigh Karaitiana has come off the bench in three games this year, but is third on the team, averaging 7.8 points with 3.6 rebounds a game and she is second on the UH squad with 11 assists and six steals. Sophomore
Destiny King is also having a solid non-conference season, leading UH with 14 assists while averaging 7.2 points and a team second-best 4.8 rebounds a game.

Tickets: For FRIDAY NIGHT'S GAMES - Women's tickets will be sold until the start of halftime of Hawai'i's women's game. After halftime, only men's tickets will be sold. Men's tickets will be good for the women's game as well. On Saturday and Sunday - General admission-adult: $7; General Admission-Senior Citizen: $5; Students (ages 4-high school): $3; UH Manoa Students receive admission to regular season home games by presenting a valid UH I.D.
Promotions: The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is the tournament sponsor and will award a two-nights stay in an Ocean-Front Junior Suite during the halftime contest at each UH game. Also, the Waikiki Beach Marriott will award dinner buffets to "Lucky Seat" winners throughout the tournament. Fans can register to participate at the sports marketing table near Gate A.
Television: UH's games vs. Colorado State and Minnesota will be televised live statewide on OCSports -Channels 16 (SD) and 1015 (HD). Jim Leahey (play-by-play) and Lori Santi (color) will be handling the broadcast duties.

Radio: ESPN 1420 AM will carry the Friday and Sunday's games live with Dave Kawada (play-by-play) and Tiff Wells (color). Neighbor islands can listen live on KNUI on Maui, KHLO in Hilo, KKON in Kona, and KTOH on Kaua'i.

Laura Beeman is 20-16 overall in her second season at UH. At Mt. San Antonio, she recorded a 390-110 record in the junior college ranks. Colorado State's Ryun Williams is in his second season at CSU with a 14-20 record with the Rams. Overall, he has a 269-172 NCAA DI record in 15 seasons and was 54-38 in the JuCo ranks. Jim Foster of UT Chattanooga is in his first season with the Mocs, but in 35 years of coaching, he has a 783-307 overall record. Minnesota's Pam Borton has a 218-140 record with the Golden Gophers in 12 seasons. Overall in 16 seasons, she has a 283-185 record.
*"Rainbows for the Philippines" - Members of the Rainbow Wahine and Rainbow Warrior teams in conjunction with the American Red Cross will be collecting donations for the victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Phililppines on Friday night during the doubleheader with the men's basketball game against Montana.
