HONOLULU—The No. 54 University of Hawai'i women's tennis team had a late start, but completed the final day of the Weinman Foundation Invitational on Monday at the UH Tennis Complex. The matches were pushed back from its original start time of 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm after Honolulu was deluged with heavy rains that had the city under a flash flood watch earlier in the day.
 
The tourney's final day began with singles action instead of doubles. UH's Xenia Suworowa battled in a three-set match against Cal's Kelly Chui, but lost in the final set, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. Paulina Petriskova's match against Laura Posylkin was a three set thriller. Hawai`i's Petriskova edged out Posylkin 7-5 in the first set; but fell in the second, 6-3. In the deciding set, Petriskova led 5-4, but could not hold off Posylkin, who eventually ground out a 7-5 win in the third. 

No. 7 California continued their dominance in doubles, sweeping all of their matches. The UH pairs were shook up a little with Katarina Poljakova sitting out in doubles. Hawai`i's Rebecca Faltusz and Xenia Suworowa paired up together against No. 59 Alice Duranteau and Laura Posylkin, with the Golden Bears prevailing, 8-4. The combo of Daisy Green and Kelly Domingo fell to  Chui and Cecilia Estlander of Cal, 8-1 while Petriskova and Martina Kostalove were defeated by Cal's Zsofi Susanyi and Klara Fabikova. 8-1.
  
The 'Bows will continue their homestand as they face No. 47 Washington on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
