HONOLULU—The 54th-ranked University of Hawai'i women's tennis team completed the 2013 Rainbow Wahine Spring Invitational against No. 3 Duke at the UH Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon. The 'Bows were swept for the second consecutive day.
 
While UH kept the lineup the same, the Blue Devils shook up the roster in doubles and singles. In doubles, the Blue Devils had Hanna Mar and Monica Turewicz on the first court who defeated UH's top duo of Katarina Poljakova and Xenia Suworowa, 8-2. Martina Kostalova and Paulina Petriskova were paired against DU's top pair Wednesday, Mary Clayton and Ester Goldfeld, and fell 8-4 while Duke's No. 3 pair of Annie Mulholland and Marianne Jodoin defeated UH's Rebecca Faltusz and Kelsey Daguio, 8-0.
 
In singles action, Duke's Hanna Mar took over the first court to face Poljakova and was victorious, 6-1, 6-2. In Petriskova's second singles match for the 'Bows, she was defeated by No. 63 Marianne Jodoin, 6-2, 6-0.  The closest match of the day came on court three, where Suworowa faced No. 40 Goldfeld. Suworowa battled the first set and found a way to win, 7-5, but Goldfeld went bounced back to win the next two sets, 6-3, 6-0 to capture the match.
 
The 'Bows will have little time to recuperate as they host California and Hawai'i Pacific in the Weinman Foundation Invitational this weekend, Saturday, Jan. 12 through Monday, Jan. 14. The matches are slated to begin at 11:00 am at the UH Tennis Complex.
