The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team will compete in a pair of meets Saturday at the UC Riverside Invitational and Brigham Young-Hawai'i Invitational.
UH will send a contingent of eight runners to the UCR Invitational, its first mainland competition of the season. The race will be held at the Agricultural Operations Course located adjacent to the UCR campus on the 420-acre Citrus Research Center and Agricultural Experiment Station.
The women's 6K race begins at 7:30 a.m. PT and will be a preview of the Big West Championships, which will be held in late October.
Freshman
Kelsie Kobayashi, UH's top runner at last week's Big Wave Invitational, will headline the Rainbow Wahine squad along with freshman
Amity Gregg, who was the team's top finisher at the season-opening Hawai'i Pacific Invitational. Also competing for UH are

Louise Mulvey, and Tiare' Nakashima.
The Rainbow Wahine last competed in the UC Riverside Invitational in 2005, where they finished 13
th as four runners ran lifetime bests including three sub-20 minute times.
UH's “B” team will compete in the BYUH Invitational along with the state's Division II teams Hawai'i Pacific, Brigham Young-Hawai'i, Chaminade, and UH-Hilo. The 5K race begins at 9:00 a.m. on the BYUH campus.
