Women’s Golf Concludes First Day Of ‘Anuenue Classic

Day 1 Results

KAPALUA, Maui – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is currently in 12th place following the first day of the inaugural 'Anuenue Spring Break Classic, Monday, at The Bay Course. The tournament is the first UH-hosted women's event on the Valley Isle.
 
Colorado leads the 14-team tournament with a two-round total of 588 followed closely by California (591), Tennessee (592), and Mississippi (594). The Rainbow Wahine shot rounds of 320 and 319 for a 639 total.
 
Cal's Daniela Holmqvist is the individual lead at 6-under 138 following rounds of 68 and 70. She holds a three-stroke lead over Punahou School graduate Alina Ching of Pepperdine who shot 69 and 72. UH's Erika Lundberg is tied for 40th at 14-over 158 (78-80).
 
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine were Kahului, Maui native Liana Otake (79-81), Ka'ili Britos (83-77), Charlee Kapiioho (80-81), and Brigitte Baker (83-83).
 
Competing as individuals for UH were Madeleine Ystrom (85-76), Megan Inouye (87-81), and Anna DePalma (88-83).
 
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
 
The tournament is the second tournament in three weeks that UH has hosted in the 50th state. The Rainbow Wahine played host to the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational two weeks ago in Kane'ohe, O'ahu.
