Game Notes
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i hosts Utah State in its regular-season home finale on Saturday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m.
Zane Johnson and
Jeremiah Ostrowski will be honored as part of “
Senior Night” festivities, while all fans are encouraged to wear white for a Stan Sheriff Center “
Whiteout.”
UH (15-14, 6-7 WAC) is coming off a disappointing 82-63 loss to Idaho on Thursday night, the team's fourth-straight loss by double digits. The 'Bows, however, can still finish in fourth place in the WAC and gain much-needed momentum heading into next week's conference tournament with a win over the Aggies. Utah State (16-14, 7-6) has defeated UH seven straight times, though the 'Bows nearly broke through in last year's meeting in Honolulu, a memorable double-overtime affair.
Johnson and Ostrowski, who serve as team captains, will make their final home appearance at the Stan Sheriff Center. With four three-pointers in UH's last contest vs. Idaho, Johnson became the school's all-time leader in three-pointers made (179). Meanwhile, Ostrowski has orchestrated the Rainbow Warrior offense all year and ranks 8
th in the nation in assists per game.
The game will also mark the program's final regular-season Western Athletic Conference game. The Rainbow Warriors are joining the Big West Conference this summer after 33 years in the WAC.
