HONOLULU – The No. 58 University of Hawai'i (6-6) women's tennis team swept Montana State (3-4), 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex.  This match was originally scheduled for Mar. 9, but had to be postponed due to inclement weather.
 
The Rainbow Wahine dominated match-play from the start, sweeping the doubles action to secure the doubles point. Hawai`i's top doubles team, Barbara Pinterova and Jamie Pawid set the tone early, winning in a quick 8-3 match.  UH's No. 2 pair, Katarina Poljakova and Xenia Suworowa defeated Gabi Villeges and Andrea De La Torre, 8-1 and  Aglae Van den Bergh and Martina Kostalova defeated Wena Tsan and Ellie Crum, 8-1. 
 
Not much changed as they shifted to singles action with the 'Bows winning all six decisions. Suworowa defeated Andrea De La Torre in the No. 5 match, 6-0, 6-1, to make it 2-0.  Pinterova, in the No. 1 position bounced Charlotta Hjalmarsson, 6-0, 6-1.  To secure the victory, Jamie Pawid was able to win the match against Wena Tsan in the No. 3 position, 6-0, 6-1. 
 
The 'Bows will now set their focus in a face-off against No. 19 Notre Dame on Wednesday, Mar. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
