SAN DIEGO – The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team's match at No. 54 San Diego State was cancelled due to inclement weather on Monday. The match at the Aztec Tennis Center will not be rescheduled.
 
Hawai'i dropped the doubles point, 1-2. The No. 2 match saw SDSU's Julia Wais and Alicia Aguilar defeat Barbara Pinterova and Xenia Suworowa, 8-5. But the Rainbow Wahine responded with a win at No. 3 with Aglae Van den Bergh and Martina Kostalova holding off Emma Cioffi and Laura Antonana. With doubles deadlocked at 1-to-1, the Aztec's Sierra Ellison and Roxanne Ellison held off UH's No. 1 duo of Katarina Poljakova and Jamie Pawid, 6-8.
 
The weather then forced a handful of stoppages. After a two hour delay the top three singles players started their matches, but rain forced the final delay, and just before 11 p.m. PT, the match was called due to weather.
 
When the match was stopped, Wais was leading Pinterova, 6-5, at the top position while No. 2 Poljakova was knotted at 6-to-6 with Emma Cioffi, but was trailing in the tiebreaker, 1-4.  No. 3 Pawid dropped the first set, 4-6 but was tied in the second, 2-2 with Laura Antonana Iriate.
 
Hawai'i returns home after going 2-1 on their first spring road trip. The Rainbow Wahine return home for a 10-match home stand beginning on Feb. 29 against Eastern Michigan.
