HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team concludes its six-game home stand this week when its hosts a pair of Big West contests, beginning with a matchup against Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, Jan. 3. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.        
 
The Rainbow Warriors (7-5, 1-0 BWC) made a successful Big West debut on Dec. 29 when they held off Cal State Northridge, 74-71, in a roller coaster of a game. UH fell behind by double-digits early in the game, surged back to take a double-digit of its own, before needing a late rally to take over the Matadors. Christian Standhardinger led UH with 17 points, while Isaac Fotu (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Vander Joaquim (12 points, 11 rebounds) both went for double-doubles.
 
Cal State Fullerton (7-5, 1-0 BWC) also won its home conference opener with an 86-79 UCSB, powered by a 30-point effort by guard Sammy Yeager. The Titans, selected to finish second in the Big West Preseason Media Poll behind defending league champ Long Beach State, come to Hawai'i on a four-game win streak.
