HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team concluded the final day of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex.
 
The Rainbow Wahine hosted Hawai'i Pacific and UC Irvine with both singles and doubles competition over the course of the three-day tournament. Seven Rainbow Wahine players battled in the final day of competition on Saturday.
 
In doubles play, the 'Bows juggled the pairings against the Anteaters. Katarina Poljakova and Xenia Suworowa were the top pair against Kristina Smith and Franziska Goettsching, but fell 9-7 on Court 9. In the third pairing, Kelly Domingo and Rebecca Faltusz were defeated by Nakisa Vahdat and Alison Klein,  9-8 (5).
 
Poljakova stayed consistent for the duration of the tournament, winning all of her singles matches. In her final match, Poljakova defeated UCI's Goettsching in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Poljakova did not lose a single set during the entire tournament. The rest of the Rainbow Wahine struggled to find their groove in the tournament. Martina Kostalova fell to UCI's Marivick Mamiit in a close two-set match, 6-4, 6-4 while the Anteaters' Sarah Stadfelt held off Faltusz in the first set, 7-5 before racing to a 6-1 win in the final set. 
 
The 'Bows will head over the Pali to Kailua from Nov. 11-17 for Kailua Night Doubles, which starts at 5:00 p.m.
