Hawai‘i Closes Big West Road Play At Pacific, UC Davis

Jade Vorster hit a team-high .857 against BYU-Hawai'i

Match Notes

HONOLULU – The No. 7 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team will play its final Big West Conference road matches this week when the 'Bows play at Pacifc and UC Davis. UH plays Pacific on Friday, Nov. 16 (7:00 p.m. PT) and UC Davis on Saturday, Nov. 17 (7:00 p.m. PT).

The 'Bows (22-2, 14-0 BWC) will have had nearly two weeks off from Big West play when they take on Pacific. UH played BYU-Hawai'i during that stretch, sweeping the Seasiders last Thursday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Wahine enter their final four-match stretch having already clinched the conference title. Outside hitter Emily Hartong continues to be the focal point of the UH offense. She was named AVCA National Player of the Week this past October, and eclipsed 400 kills this season against BYUH.

The 'Bows continue to be an offensive juggernaut in the Big West. They lead the conference in both hitting percentage (.272) and kills per set (14.17), and are also second in assists per set at 13.12. Individually, middle Jade Vorster hit for an individual and team season-high .857 (6-0-7) against the Seasiders and is hitting .390 for the season to lead the Big West, while Hartong is burying a conference-high 4.52 kills per set.

The Pacific match will broadcast live on ESPN AM 1500 with Saturday's match versus UC Davis on ESPN AM 1420. The match will also be streamed at www.bigwest.tv.
