HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team will host its annual Homecoming game against Mountain West foe New Mexico, Saturday, Oct. 13. Kick-off is 6:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium.
The Warriors (1-4, 0-2 MW) have lost their last three games, including last Saturday's 52-14 setback to San Diego State, the tail-end of consecutive road games. UH is in dire need of a win, having lost its four games this season by a combined score of 217-48. Against the Aztecs last week, the Warriors fell behind early 35-7 at the half and could not catch up.
The Lobos (3-3, 0-1) evened its record following a 35-14 home win over Texas State. UNM attempted only three passes the entire game and finished with 361 net yards rushing. The Lobos rank eighth nationally in rushing, averaging 271.7 yards per game.
The teams have not met since 1998, when both were members of the Western Athletic Conference. UH leads the series 14-7, however, the Lobos have won the last four games in the series, including the last two at Aloha Stadium.

Chris Hart and Gary Dickman host the “Countdown To Kickoff” beginning at 4:00 p.m. HT, and also the halftime show. Neighbor islands can listen live on KNUI on Maui, KHLO in Hilo, KKON in Kona, and KTOH on Kaua'i.

Honolulu Star-Advertiser is the game sponsor and one lucky fan will win prizes from the Star-Advertiser during the pre-game “Boot for Loot” field goal contest (register at Gate 3). Also, UH students will have the chance to compete in the Star-Advertiser “Quarterback Challenge” and win a Vacations Hawaii Trip to Las Vegas during the first timeout of the fourth quarter (register at Gate 7). 2,000 green & white pom poms will be distributed in the UH student sections. Fans are encouraged to visit the Chevron Family Fun Zone before the game in the parking lot across from the stadium ticket office. Also, register at Gate 4 or 6 to win the “Best Seats In the House,” compliments of Papa John's Pizza Hawaii and NAPA. The Farmers Hawaii Supa Bowzooka will be launching T-shirts into the stands between first and second quarters.
UH Band Performances: The UH Marching Band welcomes back its alumni band during Saturday's football Homecoming game against New Mexico. The alumni will participate during the pre-game performance. During halftime, the band's performance will feature a fairy tales theme featuring a cast of hundreds including Drill Team Hawai'i, the Rainbow Dancers, and Dorothy and friends.
