WAHIAWA, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team concluded the 2012 Rainbow Wahine Invitational in 10
th place Wednesday at the Leilehua Golf Course.
UH shot a final round 313 for a 937 total (314-410-313). Florida International held off Toledo by two strokes for the team title at 895. Individually, FIU's Shelby Coyle captured medalist honors beating Eastern Michigan's Sarah Johnson on the first playoff hole. Coyle sunk her 15-foot birdie putt for the win.
The Rainbow Wahine were led by senior Ka'ili Britos who shot a final round 79 for a 230 total (75-76-79) and a tie for 28
th place. Freshman
Nichole Cruz had a strong showing, posting a 4-over 76 on Wednesday for a 234 total (76-82-76) and a tie for 41
st place.
The rest of the Rainbow Wahine included junior Charlee Kapiioho (76-79-81=236/t48
th), junior
Liana Otake (84-76-77=237/50
th), and senior
Megan Inouye (86-82-81=249/64
th).
The tournament concluded the fall season for the Rainbow Wahine. UH will open the spring season at the Folio Invitational in Industry Hills, Calif.
