WAHIAWA, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is in ninth place following the first two rounds of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Tuesday at the Leilehua Golf Course.
The Rainbow Wahine rebounded from a first round 314 to post a second round 310 for a 624 total.
Toledo and Florida International are tied for the lead in the team standings at 595 followed by Washington State (597), UC Irvine (602), and Boise State (604). Individually, WSU's Kristen Rue (even 144) holds a one stroke lead over Memphis' Alex Alang, Eastern Washington's Sarah Johnson, and FIU's Shelby Coyle.
UH's top individual is senior Ka'ili Britos, who shot rounds of 75 and 76 for a 151 total and is in a three-way tie for 21
st place. In the second round, junior Charlee Kapiioho (79-76=155) improved three strokes from her first round and is currently tied for 35
th.
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine are freshman
Nichole Cruz (76-82=158), junior
Liana Otake (84-76=160), and senior
Megan Inouye (86-82=168).
The final round is scheduled for Wednesday at 8:00
