HONOLULU – The last time the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team trailed by two sets at home, the match ended in a sweep. Tonight was a different story as the ninth-ranked 'Bows rallied from a two-set deficit to beat Pacific, 14-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-14, 15-11 on Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Jade Vorster had a career-high 13 kills and equaled a career-high eight blocks as the 'Bows (17-2, 10-0 Big West) remained perfect in the Big West Conference and extended their conference winning streak to 65. Emily Hartong posted a match-high 20 kills to go along with nine digs and five blocks, and Ashley Kastl recorded her second straight double with 11 kills and 15 digs.

Kat Shulz had a team-high 15 kills for Pacific who fell to 16-6 overall and 4-5 in conference. Koala Matsuoka had a match-high 23 digs and Jennifer Sanders posted 14 kills and five blocks.

Down and seemingly out heading to the intermission, UH returned to the court and dominated Pacific in set four. The 'Bows scored four of the first five points then, off a Kaela Goodman (5 K) kill and block, led 12-5 prompting a Pacific timeout. The run continued and after back-to-back kills by Kalei Adolpho, UH led 21-13 and coasted to the win. Adolpho had six kills and six blocks on the evening.

Set four saw another strong opening as Hawai'i eyed a fifth and deciding set. Hartong took control early with three kills to give UH an 11-4 lead. After a Schulz kill brought Pacific to within five points, UH reeled off six straight to take a 21-10 lead and set the stage for a fifth set. In the final frame, it were the 'Bows who got the early lead and never let up. Hartong and Vorster buried the final two kills to give Hawai'i the comeback win.

The 'Bows didn't get the start they wanted, as Pacific notched seven of the first nine points of the match. Vorster's kill cut the lead to 14-12 but Pacific finished the set on an 11-2 run to win going away.

The struggles continued in set two. A Kastl kill stopped a 4-0 run midway through the set, but another Tiger run put Pacific ahead 18-12. A pair of kills by Hartong and Kastl brought the 'Bows to within three points late and, off an Emily Maeda service ace, cut the lead to 23-22. The run would not continue as Pacific held UH off for the commanding two-set lead.

Hawai'i next takes to the road for Big West matches against Long Beach State (Friday, Oct. 26) and UC Irvine (Saturday, Oct. 27).
