Match Notes
HONOLULU – The No. 9 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team continues Big West Conference play this week when they host UC Davis on Thursday, Oct. 18 (7:00 p.m.) and Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 20 (7:00 p.m.).
While the UC Davis (10-10, 4-3 BWC) match marks the first-ever meeting between the Aggies and Rainbow Wahine, the 'Bows will renew a storied Big West rivalry when they host Pacific (16-4, 4-3 BWC) on Saturday. Next to UCLA, the Tigers have beaten UH more than any other opponent, but the 'Bows lead the all-time series 36-25.
The 'Bows (15-2, 8-0 BWC), who dropped one spot in this week's AVCA national poll, topped Cal State Northridge last Friday to remain the Big West's lone unbeaten team. They also carry with them a 63-match conference win streak, the longest active streak in the country.
Jade Vorster (.331) and Kalei Adolpho (.328) rank No. 1 and No. 2 in the Big west in kill percentage, with
Emily Hartong leading the conference at 4.33 kills per set. As a team, Hawai'i leads the Big West in three major categories; hitting percentage (.262), assists per set (12.83), and kills per set (14.05).
