Men’s Golf Concludes Alister Mackenzie Invite

Final Results

FAIRFAX, Calif.- The University of Hawai'i men's golf team completed its inaugural tournament of the fall season with a 16th place finish at the Alister Mackenzie Invitational Tuesday at The Meadow Club.
 
The Warriors shot a final round 302 (+18) to finish with a final score of 887(294-291-302/+35). The top-ranked California Golden Bears ran away with the tournament finishing with a final score of 46-under 806. Cal's Brandon Hagy (15-under 198) beat out San Francisco's Taylor Travis by three strokes for the individual titlist honors.
 
The Warriors top finisher was sophomore Ryan Kuroiwa who shot a final round 76 to finish with a score of 218 (68-74-76). Kuroiwa finished the tournament in a tie for 48th place.  
 
Also competing for the Warriors were senior Cory Oride (77-70-72=219/ T54) and juniors David Saka (75-73-77=225/ T71) and Tommy Yamashita (78-74-77=229/ T75). Competing in his first tournament as a Warrior was true freshman Scotty Yamashita (74-75-79=228/74).
 
The Warriors will return to California next week for the Bill Cullum Invitational in Simi Valley, Calif., Monday Oct. 22 and Tuesday Oct. 23.
