Women’s Golf Finishes Ninth At Wyoming Desert; Two Place In Top 20

Final Results

PALM DESERT, Calif. – The University of Hawai'I women's golf team completed its week-long road trip by finishing in ninth place at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate, Sunday at The Classic Club. UH senior Ka'ili Britos and freshman Nichole Cruz placed 13th and 15th, respectively.
 
The Rainbow Wahine shot a final round 313 for a 932 total (316-303-313) for ninth place overall. Fresno State ran away with the team title with a 885 total while College of Charleston's Kathy Boehm edged out FS's Madchen Ly by one stroke for individual titlist honors.
 
Britos entered the final round tied for fifth place but shot a final round 79 for a 10-over 226 total (75-72-79). Cruz shot a steady 75 for an 11-over 227 total (79-73-75).
 
Also competing for UH were junior Liana Otake (78-80-76=234/t37th), senior Megan Inouye (84-81-83=248/t88th), junior Charlee Kapiioho (84-78-87=249/t91st),
 
The Rainbow Wahine will return home to host the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Oct. 30-31 at the Leilehua Golf Course.
