Rainbow Wahine Tennis Dominates On Day Two

Tournament Schedule And Results

HONOLULU – On the second day of the Rainbow Wahine Spring Invitational, the University of Hawai'i women's tennis team swept doubles play and lost just once in six singles matches. The tournament concludes Saturday.
 
The 'Bows shutdown Kentucky in the mid-morning doubles matchup, winning all three matches. In three doubles, Aglae Van den Bergh and Martina Kostalova rallied from a late deficit to win 8-6, and in No.1 singles the UH pair of Katarina Poljakova and Jamie Pawid solidly defeated Jessica Stiles and Khristina Blajkevitch, 8-1.
 
Hawai'i closed the day winning five of six singles matches against Kansas. The 'Bows lost only in three singles as Barbara Pinterova was unable to finishing the match after being up one set. UH swept its five other doubles matches highlighted by a pair of 6-1, 6-1 wins by Poljakova and Pawid at the one and two, respectively.
 
The third and final day of the Invitational begins at 9:00 a.m. with singles play between Kansas and Kentucky. The 'Bows will face Kansas in doubles at 1:30, followed by singles play against Washington State.
