Final Results
SEASIDE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i Warrior golf team finished the St. Mary's Classic in ninth place, Tuesday, shooting 50-over par (313-293-308) for the tournament.
Ryan Kuroiwa was the top finisher for Hawai'i in 30th place, posting a final score of 9-over par (79-71-75=225), including a 1-under, 71 in the second round.
Nainoa Calip followed finishing tied for 49th, shooting 14-over par (78-74-78=230) for the tourney.
Also competing for UH were
T.J. Kua (82-70-79=231/t51),
Tommy Yamashita (78-78-76=232/t54), and
Brian Lee (78-78-79=235/t58). Kua played well on the Blackhorse Course, carding a 2-under par second round, but didn't fare as well on the Bayonet Course, shooting a combined 17-over par for the first and third rounds of competition.
Oregon took the team title with a final score of 11-under par (286-281-286). Alabama-Birmingham finished in second at 2-over par (294-282-290), followed by St. Mary's at 17-over par. CS-Northridge junior, Chris Russo took the individual title with a final score of 9-under par (68-69-70=207).
Hawai'i will tee it up again in two weeks at the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno.
