Final Results
MESA, Ariz. - The University of Hawai'i women's golf team faltered on the final day of the Western Athletic Conference Championships Sunday at the Longbow Golf Club and finished the tournament in seventh place.
San Jose State (884) captured its third consecutive WAC title and held off New Mexico State by two strokes with a final round 294. Fresno State (913) vaulted four spots from seventh to third followed by Boise State (921), Nevada (922), Idaho (926), and UH (.929).
The Rainbow Wahine entered the day in fourth place but dropped back with a final round 313 coupled with a first round 305 and second round 311. Leading the way for UH was sophomore Ka'ili Britos, who finished in a tie for 14th place with a 15-over 228 total (76-75-77).
Junior
Erika Lundberg was three strokes back in a tie for 18th place after firing her second straight 78 for a 231 total (75-78-78). Freshman
Anna DePalma tied for 22nd at 235 (79-78-78) followed by sophomore
Brigitte Baker (76-80-80=236/T24th) and freshman
Madeleine Ystrom (78-89-82=249/T32nd).
The tournament concludes the 2010-11 season for the Rainbow Wahine, which featured seven underclassmen and only one senior -
Brittany Bomar from Anchorage, Alaska.
