Warrior Tennis Falls To No. 52 Boise State

FRESNO, Calif. -- The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team was defeated by Western Athletic Conference rival No. 52 Boise State 5-2 Sunday morning. The loss puts the Warriors at 6-12 overall and 2-4 in the WAC.

UH fell short in doubles action, losing on all three courts. Despite the results, Dennis Lajola and Jonathan Brooklyn fought hard against Damian Hume and Scott Sears suffering only their first loss in the last six matches.

The Warriors fought back in singles but were only able to nab two victories. Lajola defeated No. 120 Damian Hume at the No. 1 court while Brooklyn defeated Filipp Pogostkin in an exciting super set tie-breaker, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6), claiming his second victory in a row.

Next up for the Warriors is the WAC Championships which will take place April 29-May 1 in Boise, Idaho. Opponents and times are to be determined.
